Entry: out of his mind... 2/21/2005



JJ Redick single handedly took Duke to the victory over Wake Forest last night.  The man just played like it was all on the line, I can only hope that this continues into the post season. 

I would have liked to see more from D. Ewing (in the way of points and assists) and Shelden, but I guess it was just JJ's night.  38 points is a new career high, obviously, Duke players just don't score that much..it isn't normal...but it was necessary.  The bench did a great job of putting points on the board and D.Ewing not starting  hopefully put a fire in him that playing time has to be earned.  There is no reason he shouldn't be scoring 16 or 17 a night..he is a tremendous athlete with great bball knowledge. 

I guess the point was that they got the "W"

I am not going to fall into this fantasy that fouling to intimidate is good basketball -- Just like I'm not going to let Paul off for that shot to the pills against Hodge yesterday. Ouch. Paul's been getting mobbed because, let's face it, he's a good player who needs to hit the weight room. Hey, maybe that shot at Hodge was a warning to future guards to keep their distance, whatever. The problem is, his reputation as a classy guy just took a punch to the nuts as well. And I'd rather not see Duke's reputation look as bad as (shudder) Carolina's.

Oh, and Davidson has 15 lbs on Paul. Not a beast in comparison, but not "smaller in every sense of the word" dude. Let's stick to the facts.

Look, all I'm saying is that I don't like to see goonery of any kind in basketball, mostly because I don't want to see either side rack up injuries. I want to see passing, shooting, dunking -- you know, a ball game. If I want to see mind games I'll go to a Foreigner concert.

I will try to quite being a bunches of pusses now.

please the kid they put on paul was smaller in every since of the word, come on now..the fouls were not hard fouls..quite being a bunches of pusses.

Dude, 2 minutes, 2 fouls. And K was on the sidelines performing a greek tragedy to the refs. Dirty pull. If Paul's arm had been broken, then we wouldn't be talking about John Chaney right now, and you freaking know it, liquid.

Hey, the refs didn't make those crushing threes in the second-half; Wake just plain lost the game. But I watch ACC I like good basketball, not goon shenanigans.

what stunt are you referring to?? The one where Paul thinks he is so good that people are trying to rough him up, please...likely excuse. it had a lot less to do with Paul and a lot more to do with sub-par play from Dukes starting guards..don't flatter yourselves Deacs, you have won nothing yet.
